This year, we celebrated! For 15 years, the Georgia Mountains Farmers Network (GMFN) has been building relationships between farmers and connecting the public to local farmers through Farm Tours, Farmers Markets, and the Farm Resource Center. We wouldn’t be here without those dedicated to growing and supporting local food. That’s you!
Thanks to all who could join us in bringing the community together to highlight farmers and local artisans, connecting with chefs who support local food, and raising money to continue GMFN programs that build a stronger community of farmers and local food supporters.
EAT
Chefs Tim and Tina Roberts of 2Dog Catering provided a seasonal feast using all locally-sourced ingredients from 15+ different farms with vegetarian, gluten free, and sustainably-raised pork options. All contributing farms listed below and acknowledged. We ended the evening with fresh-made paw paw marshmallows around the bonfire.
DRINK
A variety of beverages, including hand-crafted mocktails (non alcoholic mixed drinks) and cocktails options were curated and offered by Rosemary of Forest and Ether, including a Vegetal Gin by Old Know Bev Co. (locally distilled using local vegetables), and an Apple Brandy by Chattooga Belle Farm. Lemongrass IPA was on draft, and estate-grown red wines available.
SUPPORT
Bids on exclusive items and experiences were available during the silent auction. Tickets helped sponsor farmers to attend and enjoy their own food in a special way. We also highlighted farmers and shared about where we’ve come and where we are going as an organization.
